DESMI – What are we doing ?
In DESMI we combat sargassum invasions with innovative in-water harvesting systems together with the best sargassum containment floating barrier with the longest life time, preventing ecological and economic damage to coastal regions.
Our patented technologies include:
• Anti-sargassum barriers (DESMI Mesh Booms) – 21km deployed in the Caribbean.
• Automated harvesters (Sea Turtle, TriTurtle, Whale Shark models) – Remove 20-30 m³/hour of sargassum free-of-sand.
• Circular economy focus – At DESMI, we collaborate with commercial partners to create a circular economy by transforming collected sargassum into valuable resources.
